| So after further research I have made some conclusions. First, I dont see how a seal could just "blow" on brand new turbos. Looking at the mechanism, it appears that running BB turbos without the oil restrictor would obviously cause an overflow and oil to bypass into the turbo, thusly, the smoke. That being said, wouldnt it be logical that installing the restrictors would then limit oil flow to acceptable numbers, thus eliminating smoke from the tailpipes? I am by no means an authority on this stuff so I am floating this theory out there before I do anything drastic like send my turbos away for surgery that may or may not be needed. But analyzing some facts and statements such as "I went 15,000 miles with no restrictors before the turbo seals went out." Caused me to question the whole turbo seal idea. Of course the smoke could be coming from the engine internally but I am still vouching for its integrity at this point. Thoughts please!
